Belzer in the Community: June 2024

Welcome to the June edition of Belzer in the Community! As the days get longer and the weather gets warmer, we are excited to share with you some of the exciting events from the month of June.  It was a busy one here at Jeff Belzer’s! 

GrillFest  

The 12th annual GrillFest took place at CHS Field early June to kick off summer. At this event, attendees could enjoy samples of food and beverages from a variety of vendors. As the exclusive automotive sponsor, Jeff Belzer’s brought out a few new vehicles, including the Kia EV9, Kia Sorento, Dodge Durango, and Chevrolet Blazer. We also gave samples of 1919 Root Beer and Buddy’s Soda, which was a perfect way to cool off in the sunny weather. Both sodas are brewed locally in New Ulm, so check them out – you won’t be disappointed! Thank you to Minnesota Monthly for putting together a great weekend that was filled with fun, delicious food, and great weather. 

Bourbon & Cigars 

Lakeville Public Safety Foundation held their Bourbon & Cigars event at Red Fox Tavern last month. It was a great night that brought the community together for live music, raffles, good food, and, of course, bourbon and cigars. Despite the rain, the event was a huge success. Jeff Belzer’s partners with the Lakeville Public Safety Foundation on many of their events and were proud to be a sponsor of Bourbon & Cigars again this year. The mission of LPSF is to promote public safety by enhancing the capabilities of the Lakeville Fire and Police Department. If interested, you can donate to their organization here.  

Patio Dining Bracket Challenge 

Minnesota Monthly put on the Patio Dining Bracket Challenge, where readers could vote for the restaurant that has the best patio. There were five rounds, stretching from May 6 to June 9. It was a close and competitive race, but Jax Cafe in Minneapolis took the win. Congratulations, Jax! As the presenting sponsor, Jeff Belzer’s had the opportunity to present the award to the owner of Jax Cafe and experience the patio for ourselves. The atmosphere was absolutely incredible with the lush greenery, flowers, and streams. The food was amazing as well – we recommend checking them out! Artisan Home Tour 

The Artisan Home Tour is a luxury Parade of Homes that is put on by Housing First Minnesota. For three weekends, attendees could tour homes around the metro area that were designed and built by the region’s most exceptional builders and remodelers. Each home had their own unique personality and all amazed attendees. Jeff Belzer’s was the automotive sponsor of this event and had many vehicles placed in the garages of the homes. Be sure to get your tickets next year to see these incredible builds! 

Golf Events

B52’s and Lakeville Hockey Association Golf Giveback

B-52’s Burgers and Brew put on a Golf Giveback event in support of Lakeville Hockey Assocation. This event was at Boulder Pointe Golf Club in Elko New Market and we had a sunny day perfect for golfing! Jeff Belzer’s sponsored a hole and conducted a Hole in One Competition. We brought out a truck as a grand prize and although no one won the truck, we witnessed some impressive shots. Jeff Belzer’s is grateful for the opportunity to support the Lakeville Hockey Association and enjoyed the day of getting to connect with our great community. 

Louis Schmitz Foundation Memorial Golf Classic 

It was an honor to be a sponsor of the Louis Schmitz Foundation Memorial Golf Classic. This annual event helps provide memorial scholarships in Louie’s name for one female and one male student athlete from Farmington High School as well as providing financial assistance for student athletes. This event brings together the community who share a commitment to continuing to honor Louie and his mission. We had a great time doing our Hole in One Competition and engaging with the players on a beautiful day. Thank you to the Louis Schmitz Foundation for having us – we are proud to contribute to Louie’s mission!  

Highmark Golf Classic 

Our last golf event of the month was the Highmark Golf Classic. Highmark Companies has been a great partner of Jeff Belzer’s over the years – their fleet has grown from 10 vehicles to over 65! This golf event was designed to bring together their partners, vendors, and clients for a day of appreciation. We did another Hole in One Competition out at the Wilds Golf Club. Glenn Walker Youth Fishing Event 

We hosted our first ever Youth Fishing Day at our New Prague location. Glenn Walker, pro fisherman, brought his truck, boat, and expertise out to educate kids on fishing fundamentals. From casting practice to knot tying, this evening was filled with fun activities and great information. Each child also got to take home their own tackle box, which included bobbers and lures. Thank you, Glenn, for coming out and thank you to everyone that came! 

LIVE on the Landing  

Every Wednesday throughout the summer, Charlie’s on Prior is hosting LIVE on the Landing. A local musician will have the evening to perform in front of Charlie’s patrons on the docks. It is a great atmosphere, especially during the warm summer days. Jeff Belzer’s was out there for Alex Rossi, and we had a wonderful time listening to the music and handing out SWAG.
